Nowadays, many people view science as a way to prove that God is unnecessary. They claim that God was only needed to explain the workings of the world before science came along. However, many scientists believe that science can actually help prove the existence of God. At the birth of the scientific revolution, scientists were working to discover the basic concepts of the universe that we now take for granted. However, many of their discoveries challenged or went against the teachings of the Catholic church. The church felt their authority was being threatened by these discoveries, and people were forced to choose if they believed the church or science. However, this was not the desire of the early scientists. Many of them were christians themselves and used the Bible to back up their new discoveries. The church was simply clinging to tradition and was afraid to see things in a new and different light. Their refusal to accept new thought and discoveries actually went against the Christian view of God as the author of all truth. They were unwilling to accept the truth of these new discoveries because it went against their traditions and threatened their authority. However, the backlash from the Catholic church was unable to extinguish of the early scientist's fire for discovery. They were eager uncover new concepts and ideas about the workings of the universe. They wanted to know the truth about how the world works and how God fits into the picture. The work of the scientific revolution helped people to better understand the universe and the world around them, which helped lead to a better understanding of God. The birth of the scientific revolution brought about so many incredible discoveries of our world, and helped people to see the truth that God created everything perfectly and with a purpose, even in putting the sun at the center of our solar system, which is so very small in comparison to the rest of the universe.
